Turquoise, known as Feroza/फिरोजा in Hindi, the birthstone for Sagittarius sun sign, is a semi-precious gemstone of phosphate mineral having blue to bluish green color.

Chemical composition :- CuAl6(PO4)4(OH)8 5H20 with some alumina replaced by ferric oxide. (Hydrous phosphate of aluminium and copper with some iron)

Colour :- Blue – copper, green – copper and iron.
Hardness :- 5.5 to 6 on Moh’s scale
Specific Gravity :- 2.60 – 2.85
